Baba Bageshwar Unveils Inspiring Assam-Wide ‘Padyatra’ During Transformative Kamakhya Temple Visit
Pandit Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, widely known as Acharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, recently visited the esteemed Maa Kamakhya Temple in Assam, where he called for unity among Hindus. Echoing a message of solidarity, he remarked, “Batenge toh katenge… ek rahenge toh nek rahenge,” emphasizing the strength in unity.
Shastri hinted at his return to the Ambubachi Mela next year, marking his intention to participate in the spiritual event. During his visit, he expressed admiration for Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, whom he described as a “brother” in their joint quest to uphold Sanatan Dharma. He praised Sarma for his dedication and efforts in promoting and safeguarding Sanatan traditions in the region.
Furthermore, Shastri announced plans to lead a ‘padyatra’ across Assam with the aim of fostering Sanatan Dharma and tackling challenges related to missionary conversions and demographic shifts, which he views as threats to traditional beliefs. He emphasized the importance of religious education, noting, “A Muslim child is well-versed in the Quran, and a Christian child knows the Bible, but Hindu children lack knowledge of the Gita or Ramayana.” This educational gap, he argued, makes the Hindu community susceptible to external influences and conversions.
Highlighting a shift in the nation’s dynamics, Shastri declared, “This is not the India of 1947, but of 2024,” and cautioned those who speak against Sanatan Dharma that their actions will not be ignored. With these remarks, Shastri is reinforcing his commitment to promoting religious unity and safeguarding Hindu traditions in contemporary India.
