Heartwarming Generosity: Arunachal Governor Empowers Change with Rs 5 Lakh Donation to Mother’s Home Rehabilitation Centre
Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) demonstrated his commitment to tackling drug addiction by presenting a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to Mother’s Home rehabilitation centre on October 21. This financial aid, previously promised during his visit, was graciously accepted by Mother’s Vision Chairperson Jumde Yomgam Gamlin and Secretary Kirbom Padu.
In his address, Governor Parnaik lauded Mother’s Vision for its outstanding work in combating drug addiction through education, rehabilitation, and advocacy. He underscored the organization’s transformative impact on individuals affected by addiction, offering them a pathway to hope and recovery.
Acknowledging the multifaceted challenges of addressing drug addiction, the Governor called for collective action from individuals, families, governments, and NGOs. He stressed the significance of early prevention, comprehensive treatment, and sustainable support systems in breaking the cycle of addiction.
Governor Parnaik encouraged community organizations and the broader Arunachali society to strive towards creating a drug-free environment. He praised the efforts of local initiatives like the ‘Care Me Home’ Welfare Society and the Muklom Youth Association for their commendable work in this area.
Highlighting the necessity of raising awareness, especially among the youth, the Governor emphasized educating children and teenagers about the health risks, legal ramifications, and social consequences of drug use. His appeal aimed at fostering a well-informed younger generation resilient to the perils of substance abuse.
In a move towards societal reintegration, Health Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sain, who attended the event, proposed employing rehabilitated individuals within their communities. This initiative aims to support their return to society while leveraging their experiences to aid in ongoing anti-drug efforts.
