Bhandarkar, famed for provocative films like ‘Fashion’, ‘Page 3’, ‘Chandni Bar’, and ‘Heroine’, turns his lens towards a new subject with his upcoming project, ‘Wives of Bollywood’. This film aims to explore the untold stories of the wives of Bollywood stars, offering a glimpse into their opulent yet complex lives filled with scandal, gossip, power struggles, and striking luxury.
The visionary director, known for his ability to highlight the unseen facets of society, intends to portray these narratives inspired by real-life incidents on the big screen. Bhandarkar, with a career exceeding two decades, has a history of creating films that not only entertain but also provide a critical commentary on societal issues. Slated to begin production early next year, ‘Wives of Bollywood’ will be jointly produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion Pictures. Released on September 21, 2012, ‘Heroine’ depicted the life of a once-successful film actress and starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Rampal, and Randeep Hooda among others.
